What is the

 Youth Motivation Task Force?

For over 50 years, the Youth Motivation Task Force (YMTF) Outreach Program at AAMU has connected professionals, including many AAMU alumni, with students. Teams of professionals visit classrooms to offer career advice, share experiences, and inspire students with their personal achievements, showcasing the benefits of higher education.

  • OUTREACH PROGRAM GOALS

    • Introduce AAMU students to the private and public sector job market
    • Discuss possible solutions to problems students might encounter in the workplace
    • Inform students of skills they will need to succeed in the workplace
    • Share experiences on working in the job market
    • Serve as positive role models and mentors
    • Underscore the importance of being fully engaged with Career Development Services (CDS)

  • OUTREACH PROGRAM IMPACT

    • Create possible employment opportunities (internship, co-op, career) for students
    • Develop mentorship opportunities
    • Increase awareness of CDS and its services to faculty and students

  • CRITERIA FOR PARTICIPATION IN THE YMTF OUTREACH PROGRAM

    • Graduate of an institution of higher learning
    • Willingness to volunteer your time, effort and expertise to motivate students
    • Willingness to serve as a positive role model at all times
    • Willingness to abide by the rules and regulations established by CDS and the YMTF Advisory Board
    • Subject to all rules and regulations of Alabama A&M University
