Financial Literacy
Equipping students with the knowledge and skills necessary to manage their finances is crucial for long-term financial well-being. Unfortunately, many college students lack these essential skills, leading to trial and error approaches that often result in costly mistakes outweighing successes. These financial missteps can have lasting consequences, potentially impacting opportunities such as government or corporate roles due to difficulties passing background checks or obtaining security clearance.
Our program aims to address this gap by providing students with comprehensive financial education spanning basic, immediate, and advanced literacy. Covering topics like debt management, budgeting, savings, and investing, including advanced areas such as estate planning, 401k planning, and tax strategies, we empower students to make informed financial decisions. By equipping them with the necessary knowledge and skills, we aim to mitigate the risks associated with financial inexperience, ensuring students can navigate their financial futures confidently.
Partnering with the 1948 Circle of Excellence Foundation facilitates the acceleration of underrepresented talent from Alabama A&M University into corporate America, bridging the gap between education and career readiness.
